Buying or selling on Automagma? Follow these guidelines to keep yourself and your decisions safe.
When Buying
- Always inspect the vehicle in person before making any payment.
- Meet in a safe, public location during daylight hours.
- Verify the vehicle documents (registration book, computerised number plate) and match the chassis number.
- Take the car to a trusted mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection.
- Check the vehicle's history — mileage, accident damage, and ownership.
When Selling
- Confirm the buyer's identity before sharing personal details.
- Never accept post-dated cheques or unverified transfers.
- Complete the ownership transfer at the relevant excise and taxation office together.
- Remove personal documents and toll tags from the car before handing it over.
- Keep a record of the transaction and signed documents.
Payments & Communication
- Never pay in advance, even if the seller promises to hold the car.
- Beware of too-good-to-be-true prices and listings with stock photos.
- Keep all conversations on Automagma so there is a record.
- Never share OTPs, PINs, or online banking credentials.
- Avoid paying via bank transfers to personal accounts of strangers.
Report suspicious activity
If you encounter a listing, message, or offer that seems fraudulent, stop communicating immediately and report it to Automagma support. Never share your OTP, bank details, or advance payments.
